The Power of TEAM Partnerships: Why We Chose WTT?
Andy Dunne • August 5, 2026

Why TEAM chose WTT, and why I believe it's one of the biggest enhancements to Membership we've ever made

When we started reviewing the legal support available to TEAM Members, we asked ourselves one simple question.

If we were running recruitment businesses today, what would we actually want?

Not just a few template contracts, Not a solicitor you only speak to when something has gone wrong but something much more valuable

We wanted a genuine legal partner. One that understands recruitment inside out. One that lives and breathes the legislation affecting our industry. One that continually updates documentation as the legal landscape changes. One that Members can turn to when they have a question, rather than spending hours searching online or paying hundreds of pounds for advice every time something crops up.

That's why we partnered with WTT.

If you know the recruitment industry, you'll probably already know the name.

WTT has spent years advising recruitment businesses, umbrella companies, contractors and supply chains on some of the most complex legal and tax issues facing our sector. Their expertise spans commercial contracts, employment law, IR35, contractor engagement, compliance and much more.

This isn't a general commercial law firm that occasionally works with recruiters.

This is a specialist business whose entire reputation has been built around supporting the recruitment industry and that mattered to us, because the legal landscape for recruiters has changed dramatically.

  • GDPR.
  • IR35.
  • Key Information Documents.
  • Joint & Several Liability.
  • The Employment Rights Act.
  • Umbrella company reform.
  • The list keeps growing.

At the same time, clients are asking tougher compliance questions, carrying out more supplier audits and expecting recruitment businesses to demonstrate robust legal and operational processes.

Yet I still meet agencies relying on Terms of Business that haven't been reviewed for years.

  • Some have copied another agency's ones.
  • Some have downloaded a generic template.
  • Some have even asked AI to write them.

That isn't a criticism. It's often because founders simply don't know where to start or don't want to spend thousands of pounds on legal fees.

We wanted to remove that barrier.

Today, every TEAM Member has access to the TEAM Legal Hub powered by WTT.

That includes:

  • A comprehensive suite of specialist recruitment contracts covering permanent, retained, executive search, temporary, contractor, Statement of Work, PAYE, CIS, umbrella and employment.
  • Key Information Documents.
  • Comprehensive drafting and advisory notes with every agreement.
  • A dedicated Legal Helpdesk.
  • More than 100 downloadable factsheets, guides and business resources.
  • Regular legal updates and webinars as legislation evolves.
  • The new Ask WTT WhatsApp group, giving Members direct access to recruitment legal specialists for general questions.

Think about what that would normally cost.

Many agencies would pay hundreds, or even thousands of pounds, just to have a solicitor draft or review a handful of recruitment agreements, with TEAM, it's already included within Membership.

But what excites me even more is what this says about where TEAM is heading.

This isn't about adding another logo to our website.

It's about continually investing in things that make our Members' businesses stronger.

When you combine the TEAM Legal Hub powered by WTT with TEAM Xchange, TEAM Funding powered by Simplicity, advertising savings through Candidate Source, our nationwide events, learning programme and one of the UK's largest recruitment WhatsApp communities, I genuinely believe TEAM now offers one of the strongest value propositions available to an independent recruitment business.

That's exactly what we set out to achieve, not more benefits for the sake of it but better benefits that solve real problems and I believe our partnership with WTT does exactly that.

In Clifton Diocese (“the Diocese”) v Parker [2026], the Employment Appeal Tribunal (“EAT”) considered whether the burden of proof test was being misapplied in respect of a religion or belief discrimination case and confirmed the legal approach to be taken. This case also highlighted deficiencies with the employer’s process, escalation of initial performance concerns and the sanction applied. Read on for further details of why this case is important, especially for employers dealing with performance issues and conducting formal processes.

Recruitment in 2026 doesn’t look like last year and that’s becoming impossible to ignore. This isn’t a trend report or a set of predictions. It’s a reflection of what recruitment leaders are seeing right now , through real conversations with clients, candidates, and teams.
